The annual Seoul Summer Sale (2011 SSS), a shopping and tourism festival for foreign and local tourists, kicked off its 38-day shopping spree last June 24 with a bang. 2011 SSS was an initiative of the Seoul Metropolitan Government in cooperation with other private corporations and enterprises. For this year, they launched a group of supporters composed of foreign students and Korean university student who will monitor various events and promos which they will later post on their individual blogs and at the official site of Seoul Summer Sale Supporters. They act as mystery shoppers to check the quality of service and discounts partner establishments present to SSS Card holders…(by the way, you can get your free Summer Sale Card showing the adorable Super Junior at the 5th Floor of M-Plaza which is a 3 minute walk from Myeong-dong Station, Line 4, Exit 6).

The said monitoring will be done in main festival zones which includes Myeong-dong, Insa-dong and Dongdaemun, Gangnam and some department stores like IPark Lotte, Hyundai, Shinsegae and 63 city to boost the influx of foreign as well as local shoppers. The supporters were provided with their survey kits such includes discount coupons, group t-shirts, etc.

The free gift event booth will be operated in front of Lotte Department Store during the Sale period, and a promotional video of participating shops and greetings from Super Junior will be played frequently to attract foreign tourists. The foreign tourists who present a receipt from participating shops will be offered an eco bag, umbrella, fan, etc. (1st through 3rd prizes) through a raffle draw.
