SEOUL-FUL POSTCARDS

SEOUL-FUL POSTCARDS
By Team Philippines for Seoul Summer Sale 2011

A couple bound for the airport took some time to write a message to their loved ones back home through the Send a free post card program of Tourism Korea

At this digital age where we can talk and even view each other real time through YM and Skype; people especially the youngsters are not fond of sending postcards or letters through the ‘snail’ mail. Three decades ago, postcards were a fad, they function as souvenir where travelers can also write a message at the back and they send it to their family back home. Since camera was quite expensive and hard to use at that time (sorry guys, but there are no Point and shoot or even Auto-DSLRs) the postcard carries colorful landscapes and sceneries as well as personages and other icons.

In line with the Visit Korea Year 2010-2012, foreigners can send postcards for FREE anywhere provided that you use the official postcards which are available in these designs.

Super Junior Fans rejoiced as the group was named as the Ambassador of Seoul Summer Sale 2011

The organizing committee will also open Throwing Tuho game booths along with its character Haechi in its main zone including Myeong-dong, Insa-dong and Dongdaemun where most tourists frequent.

An official of Seoul said, “We prepared an online event which gives out various freebies such as round trip plane tickets to Korea, figurines (clay art) of Super Junior (Seoul’s goodwill ambassadors) t-shirts with their autograph, Amazon gift cards, etc. to foreign tourists who shop during the duration of the festival to boost the number or tourist participation.” He added, “We aim to create a more convenient atmosphere for foreign tourists, facilitating promotions and carrying out various events in which foreign tourists can participate and enjoy along with the activities of supporters.”
